Beyoncé has signed a lucrative deal with Pepsi, thought to be worth an estimated $50 million.
The Love On Top singer, who has previously starred in advertisements for the soft drinks brand since 2002, will collaborate with Pepsi once again to coincide with her performance at the Super Bowl 2013 Halftime show next February.
Bey will act as brand ambassador in the multi-year deal, with the former Destiny’s Child star also set to star in a new commercial – which will air for the first time during the Super Bowl sporting event on 3rd February.
The Single Ladies hit maker will also grace a series of limited-edition cans for the brand in March next year.
In a statement to the New York Times, Beyoncé said: “Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve. As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”
Brad Jakeman, president of PepsiCo’s global beverage group, added: “Consumers are seeking a much greater authenticity in marketing from the brands they love.
“It’s caused a shift in the way we think about deals with artists, from a transactional deal to a mutually beneficial collaboration.”
Pepsi has also announced that they will sponsor a number of creative projects for the star, including live events and videos, while also helping to promote Queen B’s fifth studio album – which will apparently be released next year.
