[Featured Artist] Young Dizzy ‘Keys To Your Room’ Exclusive | @YoungDizzy1

Ms Dynasty had the chance to interview Young Dizzy who recently released his new single ‘Keys To Your Room’ featuring ATL’s own Ying Yang Twins. From the age eight, music has been the driving force in the success of this young artist and his work ethic shows just that. Dizzy has landed a wide range of performances throughout the West Coast, along with radio airplay and spins on numerous radio stations. He gained the respect of various DJ’s, as well drawing in major record label attention such as Interscope, Grand Hustle, Def Jam and more. Through his performances, Dizzy has shown he is a star in the making time and time again.

Here’s what Young Dizzy had to say in a recent interview with us.

ME:  Hey Dizzy, thanks for taking the time to stop by and talk with us. We know that you’ve been grinding hard for some time now and you just pushed out a new single with the Ying Yang Twins. Tell the people where are you’re originally from.
YD:  I am originally from Atlanta, GA but was raised in Sacramento, CA

ME: I understand that you used to go by the name of Royce Pertilla. Why the name change to Young Dizzy?
YD: My government name is Royce Pertilla. Dizzy is a word that describes my music & style. Dizzy in the sense of unbalance. I feel that everything I deliver to my fans is different. One song may be one way, while the next may be in a totally different direction. I don’t consider myself an artist that you can categorize or put in a box.

ME: You used to be signed to BLOCKSTARZ MUSIC / DOGGTOWN MUSIC for a bit. Are you currently signed to a label right now? If not, who would you consider signing with?
YD: I signed a short deal with them. Although the companies are good, I don’t feel it was the right place for me as an artist. There are several successful major independent labels that I would consider right now, if the deal was right. To be completely honest, I’ve done so much independently that I don’t really think about it too much.

ME: What west coast rapper inspired you to get into the game?
YD: There is a long list of west coast rappers that inspire me such as Dr. Dre, Snoop, Kurupt, Ice Cube etc. Honestly the list goes on but there are several southern and east coast artist that I can say have inspired me as well.

ME: You got this new record dropping with Ying Yang Twins today. How did you hook up with Ying Yang Twins on your new single ‘Keys To Your Room’?
YD: First off I want to start by saying The Ying Yang Twins are two of the best artist I have ever worked with. They came to Sacramento, CA to do a show. When they got off the plane they asked about the local artist in the city that had a buzz. My Good friend Jeff Mouer (manager at the time) showed them my video for my single “G-5”. They asked him to bring me by the club so we could meet. That night I met with them after their show and they told me they liked my music and said “Lets go to the Studio” and from there is history. That night we recorded “Keys to Your Room”.

ME: Is ‘Keys To Your Room’ currently available on iTunes? If not, where can the people cop it?
YD: Yes it is on iTunes, so all my party people be sure to download it.

ME: Are you currently working on an album?
YD: I just finished my new mixtape entitled “CPR” which will be released next month. Also, I am currently working on my EP entitled “The Arsonist”. Be sure to be on the lookout for that.

ME: When can we expect an album drop from you?
YD: “The Arsonist” will be released at the top of the year.

ME: If the people want to know more about you or hear your music, where can you be found on the net?
YD: Everyone can contact me at any of the following:
